-Dr. Johnny Zhou, President of Protech, Attended the 3rd Aramid Forum
As the premier annual event in the aramid fiber industry, the 3rd Aramid Fiber Technology and Application Development Forum & Special Organic Fiber Industry Development Conference were held on May 22-23, 2025, in Jiading, Shanghai.This forum attracted over 400 participants from across the industrial chain, including upstream raw material suppliers, material manufacturers, technology and equipment suppliers, application development experts, research institutions and end-users. And participants had extensive communications and discussions during the forum.
Dr. Johnny Zhou from Beijing Protech New Material Science Co., Ltd. attended the forum as an invited expert and made a keynote speech. Dr. Johnny analyzed the forming and preparation technology of aramid continuous fiber 3D honeycomb composites, their compression resistance and low-velocity impact performance mechanisms as well as practical applications and performance advantages of aramid hybrid continuous fiber 3D composites in ballistic protection, transportation and other fields. By combining experiments with computer-aided finite element analysis, this research focused on investigating the mechanical response process of aramid continuous fiber 3D honeycomb composites in his speech. It introduced the engineering applications of continuous fiber 3D composites in various structural components including plates, shafts, beams, columns, tubes, special-shaped parts, shells, cases, and domes. In aerospace, rail transportation and other fields those required lighter material weight and higher reliability, 3D composites showed great application potential , such as aircraft structural components, lightweight train parts etc, which not only maintained structural strength but also substantially reduced energy consumption and operation costs.
Dr. Johnny Zhou shared Protech's practical experience and innovative achievements in the industrial application of aramid materials additionally. Through deep integration of industry, academia and research in the new material industry, Protech had established a comprehensive system spanning material development, process optimization, and large-scale production. Protech would strive to promote the large scale application of aramid materials in more fields.
In the future, Protech would adhere to innovation and increase R&D investment further in the field of aramid and high-performance fiber composites, collaborate with industry partners to promote the high-quality and steady growth of the aramid industry, and contribute more to the technological upgrading and innovative applications of related industries.
