——Latest Progress and Application Technologies of Ballistic and Blast-Resistant Composites Forum Took Place
The 27th Annual Conference of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was organized by the China Composite Society. Latest Progress and Application Technologies of Ballistic and Blast-Resistant Composites Forum was held successfully on July 2, 2025, at China Hall of Science and Technology in Beijing. The event attracted 60 participants from leading universities, research institutes, and companies specializing in the field.
Ten industry experts delivered keynote speeches on the latest advances and application technologies of ballistic and blast-resistant composite materials. The experts included: Zhai Wen (Research Fellow of No.53 Research Institute of Norinco Group), Wei Shicheng (Professor of Army Armored Forces Academy),Zhang Chao (Professor of Northwestern Polytechnical University),Johnny Zhou (Senior Engineer of Beijing Protch New Material Science Co., Ltd.), Li Xuedong ( Senior Engineer from the Shanghai Research Institute of Hunan Hengxing New Material Technology Co., Ltd.), Min Shengnan (Associate Professor of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology), Yang Yanfei (Associate Professor of Zhongyuan University of Technology ), Sun Jun (Associate Professor of Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Zhang Huihui, (Senior Engineer from the National Key Laboratory of Transient Impact), Zhang Rui (Associate Professor of Wuhan Textile University).
The conference featured dedicated discussion sessions on topics such as "Structural Optimization and Engineering Application of Ceramic Composite Armor," "Ventilation and Heat Dissipation Properties of Ballistic Composite Materials," “ Bottleneck in Fundamental Material Properties,” "Bottlenecks Issues in Raw Materials and Manufacturing Processes" , etc. The interdisciplinary exchange of ideas not only identified breakthrough directions for current technological bottlenecks but also yielded innovative concepts for key areas including material system design and process optimization, providing a practical theoretical foundation for driving technological progress within the industry.
