The Research Result of Protech Team Had Been Accepted in International Journal of 'Impact Engineering'

On April 15th, 2025, the research result of Protech R&D team, entitled "Designing SiC Ceramic Composite Armor Structure to Resist Multiple Impacts from Armor-Piercing Incendiary Bullets", was accepted in the international authoritative journal International Journal of Impact Engineering (Q1, IF=5.1). The paper focused on the design and optimization of silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic composite armor structures, innovatively proposed a winding structure to resist multiple impacts from armor-piercing incendiary bullets.


 Additionally, the paper revealed ballistic response mechanism and protection mechanism of ceramic/PE composite armor under the impact of armor - piercing incendiary bullets. The research findings held significant theoretical value and valuable engineering guidance for fields such as national defense equipment and security protection.

With the continuous improvement of requirements for protective equipment in modern warfare, traditional armor materials faced severe challenges in coping with multiple strikes from armor-piercing incendiary (API) bullets. This research significantly enhanced the ballistic performance and stability of armor under multiple impacts through the innovative design of a silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic composite armor structure, providing important theoretical support and technical pathways for the development of lightweight and high protection level armor. It also offered theoretical support for breaking through the technical bottleneck of traditional ceramic armor in resisting multiple strikes.


International Journal of Impact Engineering was a top international journal in the field of impact engineering, focusing on cutting-edge research such as dynamic response of materials and protective structure design. It was one of the most authoritative journals in the fields of explosive mechanics and impact dynamics, with extremely high academic influence.
